Jay's delivers all our firewood with a wheelbarrow so as long as we can get that to a convenient area (not too far or requires stairs), we will stack it for you. Please keep in mind if you do choose to store outside, we only recommend covering the top of the stack to keep the snow and rain off, which will also keep air flowing throughout the firewood. Ask a professional for advice if you're unsure where to store your wood.

Consider the Type of Wood You Want

Another important consideration will be the type of wood you should buy. At Jay's Tree Care & Firewood, we offer professionally split firewood sized to fit most fireplaces. This wood is put through a wood tumbler to remove debris and then hand stacked on a pallet for the first six months before being moved into one of our four covered buildings for the final drying period to ensure clean and dry wood for every customer.

There are also woods you should avoid for indoor fires. For example, you should avoid using pine or spruce. These woods can create creosote and it can cause chimney fires. You should also avoid using any type of wood that has been pressure-treated. This can release toxic gases into your home.
